Visa requirements
If you are an Australian passport holder, you will need to obtain a visa before travelling to Vietnam.
Important visa information
We have become aware of an increasing number of illegal operators offering visa services to customers. These visas cannot be validated by airport systems and could result in you being refused boarding or entry into Vietnam.
If you have already applied for a visa
Please check the legitimacy of your visa by using the government’s e-Visa website. If your visa cannot be validated, you’ll need to reapply using the link below. Visas can be requested at the airport on the day of travel, however these can cost approximately AUD $500 for each application – this is significantly more than online applications.
If you haven’t applied for a visa yet
You can apply for an e-Visa opens in new window online. E-Visa applications are typically processed within 3 working days. We recommend you check the e-Visa website for further information and updates on the status of e-Visa processing.
Face masks
Face masks may be required on flights to Vietnam. Your face mask should cover your mouth and nose.
When you arrive
You will need to adhere to any government health advice for your destination, which may include wearing face masks in public spaces.
Transiting
If you have international or domestic connecting flights, there may be additional transit requirements. Make sure you meet the requirements of your transit location as well as your final destination.
