The hallway and room walls are highlighted by original local artwork reminiscent of the days when it was owned and operated by renowned artist, Mirka Mora and her husband George, who lived and operated The Tolarno Gallery from this building.Today the hotel awards 3 major art prizes via the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), Monash University and Royal Melbourne Institute of Tafe (RMIT) and the yearly winners are exhibited in the hotel foyer. Many of the prize-winning artworks in guest rooms have been purchased from the students. and the balance from local artists.Set in the heart of St Kilda's cafe, bar and club precinct, the hotel is a short stroll to the beach, Acland Street galleries and the Sunday Esplanade Market. If arriving by car, please note the Tolarno Hotel does not have car parking; Undercover parking is available 150 meters from the property at the "Metropol CAR Park" car park around the corner in Canterbury Road. The hotel has parking vouchers available at our Reception Desk (guests need to collect voucher prior to parking their car) the cost is $10.00 per night. For additional information on Car Parking we recommend you contact the property directly prior to arrival date.
