Straw House B and B is a uniquely built property, made of straw bale and stucco. Cosy warm in winter and cool in summer. There are two rooms in the one building, each are open planned with a Queen sized bed and lounge area.
Each room has it's own ensuite bathroom, free toiletries, flat screen TV, microwave, tea and coffee making fascilities. A continental breakfast consisting of: fresh fruit, bread, jams, and cereal, is free and available in your room with your booking. Fresh milk and juice are included. We are doing our utmost to become eco-friendly, with solar hotwater, solar electricity use during the day, and tank water. We also use our dam and spring well to water our plants and vegetables. We make our own fresh jams and chutneys only from the produce we grow, and at most times you will be able to purchase free range eggs. We encourage our visitors to explore the property, dam area, and animals. We have a goat we inherited with the property, Muscovy ducks, wild ducks and Pea hens, chickens, 2 dogs and a cat. We even have a local Steam Train or Diesel Engine on the weekends, pass by. Being situated only 30 minutes south of Warwick, and 15 minutes north of Stanthorpe, there is plenty to see and do. With many local wineries a major attraction, and there are also micro breweries, local cheeses and other fresh produce. You are able to organise a pickup from us for any of the wine tours available.Stanthorpe itself is a lively and very active township, with a local fresh market on Fridays in the Piazza downtown, and the Market In The Mountain once a month. There are great coffee shops, restaurants and pubs to enjoy a good feed or a cold drink. The town also offers a selection of supermarkets for supplies.Girraween National Park is one of many walking tracks to enjoy, it also contains a lovely fresh swimming hole and interesting rock formations. Something sweet for your trip or on your return is available at Heavenly Chocolate, nearby Girraween.
