Three places to catch a break

Snapper Rocks, Coolangatta

Home to one of champion surfer Kelly Slater’s favourite waves, the sensational Snapper Rocks point break is renowned worldwide for its ripping, consistent barrels that churn from Rainbow Bay to Greenmount and, occasionally, even to Kirra.

Currumbin Alley, Currumbin

The Alley serves up stellar waves for surfers of all ages and experience levels thanks to its excellent right-hand break and gentle whitewash waves. For more seasoned surfers, next-door Currumbin beachfront offers up a sturdier wave.

The Spit, Main Beach

Rise with the sun for an early morning paddle at The Spit – the permanent sand spit makes for a top-class surf spot that serves up great waves for surf-lovers.
