Central Thailand is where history buffs would love to tread

From the former imperial seat of the Siam Kingdom of Ayutthaya, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991 to Thailand’s largest stupa Phra Pathom Chedi in Thailand’s oldest city of Nakhon Pathom, Central Thailand has many fascinating ruins and religious sites. Kanchanaburi is where the infamous Bridge over the River Kwai, as well as WWII museums, are located in the midst of stunning natural scenery. Hua Hin, Thailand’s oldest beach resort is currently enjoying a wave of revival. Samut Songkhram is where Mae Khlong and other floating markets have provided locals with fresh produce for a long time. And in the centre is Bangkok, which has pockets of real life in the khlongs (or canalways) crying out to be explored.
