Nestled in Lake St. Clair National Park, the retreat is only two hours’ drive from Launceston and 1.25 hours from Devonport and offers a truly Tasmanian accommodation experience.

From its superior hospitality, gourmet produce, to the extraordinary scenery and glorious wilderness, there’s so much on offer. Inside the lodge you can relax beside open fires, sink into comfy chairs, or simply take in the picture-perfect vista which surrounds you.
There’s an abundance of walking trails from which you can embark on from the resort, with a variety of distances to suit any level of fitness. Meander along nature tracks through towering forests and gaze up into the canopy at trees older than mankind. Discover animal and plant varieties found nowhere else on earth. Trek mountains, explore trails on horseback, mountain bike, or learn to fly-fish – there are numerous activities to choose from. When it comes to rest and relaxation, visit the Waldheim Alpine Spa for a therapeutic massage or sauna.
Your accommodation at Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge is set within its pristine wilderness setting, with Pencil Pine Cabins, Balcony Cabins and Spa Cabins, along with beautifully appointed Spa and King Billy Suites. Each room type provides every comfort you could need, some with spa baths and fireplaces, so you can truly escape to another place and time.
Please note:
We are located in 1,600km2 of wilderness. Because of our location, mobile phone service may be patchy (Telstra is the only service provider with network coverage in the area), and WiFi is practically non-existent due to transmission issues to the cabins. Your room does not have a TV. If you are unable to make the most of this opportunity to undergo a “digital detox”, we do offer complimentary WiFi in our Main Lodge building (open from 7am daily), and TV in our Tavern (open from 11:30am daily).
