Refunds on fare and Jetstar add-ons (excluding hotels, activities, insurance and car hire)
- Refundable for a Refund Fee per passenger, per booking if your original booking was a Business Class fare with Max bundle (see Fees and charges ). The Refund Fee listed on the Fees and Charges page at the time of booking will apply.
- Refunds must be requested before the end of the day of your original scheduled departure. Your fare is non-refundable if you request a refund after the end of the day of the scheduled departure, except in certain circumstances including under your local law or Conditions of Carriage.
- If your original fare did not include the option to cancel your flight, and you change to a Business Class fare with Max bundle, a credit voucher refund will not be available, unless you are entitled to a remedy under your local law or Conditions of Carriage, or you added FareCredit to your original booking.
- If you change to Business Class fare with Max bundle from fare or fare with bundle that includes a voucher refund, you will be eligible for a voucher refund.
- If you have purchased a FareCredit the relevant terms and conditions apply and are available on Jetstar.com at the time of purchase.
- For Business Class fares with Max bundle bookings made after 4 June 2024 - add-ons (excluding accommodation, activities, insurance, car hire, airport parking, airport transfers, Club Jetstar membership, booking and service change or payment fees, carbon offset, StarTrees, or StarKids donations) can only be refunded when requested as part of a refund of the applicable flight.
- For Business Class fares with Max bundle bookings made before 4 June 2024 add ons (excluding hotels, activities, insurance and car hire) can only be refunded when requested as part of a refund of the applicable flight.
- Ticketless bookings made via the GDS (Global Distribution System) will receive refunds for cancellations at a Refund Fee per passenger, per booking, and must be requested through Jetstar. The Refund Fee listed on the Fees and Charges page at the time of booking will apply.
- GDS bookings issued on an airline partner ticket or Hahn Air ticket need to be referred to the issuing travel agent or partner airline to process the refund. For Hahn Air tickets, the issuing travel agent can request a refund via BSP link.
- For Business Class fares with Max bundle bookings made after 4 June 2024 with a travel agent where add-ons (excluding accommodation, activities, insurance, car hire, airport parking, airport transfers, Club Jetstar membership, booking and service or payment fees, carbon offset, StarTrees or StarKids donations) are purchased directly with Jetstar, refund requests for those add-ons should be made directly with Jetstar after the refund is requested for the flight booking via the travel agent.
- For Business Class fares with Max bundle bookings made before 4 June 2024 with a travel agent where add-ons (excluding hotels, activities, insurance and car hire) are purchased directly with Jetstar, refund requests for those add-ons should be made directly with Jetstar after the refund is requested for the flight booking via the travel agent.
- For cancellations of Points Plus Pay – Flights bookings made under Business class fare with Max bundle fare rules, the refundable portion of Qantas Points will be re-credited to the Member’s account and the refundable portion of any money payments will be refunded to the original form of payment used, less the Refund Fee. The Refund Fee listed on the Fees and Charges page at the time of booking will apply.
- Other Jetstar terms and conditions or the terms and conditions of the third-party service provider will apply and you should check these carefully before making your purchase. The details of the other Jetstar terms and conditions or the terms and conditions of the third party are provided on Jetstar.com at the time of booking.
- You may be entitled to a refund, an alternative flight or remedy under your local law or our Conditions of Carriage, in which case no fees apply.
Missed check-in deadline or failure to board within the required time
- Permitted changes or refund can be made if requested before the end of the day of your original scheduled departure and upon payment of any applicable Fare Difference.
Time/Date change
- Permitted upon payment of the applicable Fare Difference within the Change Deadline.
- No fees are payable where you are entitled to an alternative flight under your local law or our Conditions of Carriage.
Origin/Destination changes
- Permitted upon payment of the applicable Fare Difference within the Change Deadline. You must contact the Contact Centre or the Jetstar Service Desk at the airport to make origin or destination changes.
Passenger Name changes
- Free within Change Deadline via the Jetstar Contact Centre.
- Name changes can be made for an individual passenger on a booking, but must apply to all flights for that passenger.
- Name changes not permitted for Qantas Frequent Flyer Points Plus Pay or JAL Mileage bookings.
Change Deadline and Point of contact
- Permitted changes must be made before the end of the day of your scheduled flight departure. Changes can be made:
- at Jetstar.com or Jetstar App before the original scheduled flight opens for check-in at the airport if originally the booking was made via Jetstar.com, the Jetstar App or Jetstar Contact Centre.
- at the Contact Centre or at the Jetstar Service Desk at the airport up to the end of the day of your scheduled flight departure, and additional services fees may apply.
- Airport check in opening times are available on your Jetstar itinerary and on Jetstar.com.
- Time and Date changes can be made via Jetstar.com or the Jetstar App if original booking was made via Jetstar.com, the Jetstar App or Jetstar Call Centre.
- All changes can be made via Jetstar Contact Centre or Jetstar Service Desk at the airport and additional booking fees (see Fees and charges) apply if the booking was not originally made via the Jetstar Contact Centre or Jetstar Service Desk at the airport. Booking fees apply at the rate published on the day of change (except change fees). Booking fees are subject to change and Jetstar will give at least one month's notice of a change by updating the Fees and charges webpage. Additional booking fees can be avoided by making changes through Jetstar.com or on the Jetstar App.
Change Fees and Fare Difference
- Change Fees do not apply for permitted changes to the Business Class fare with Max bundle.
- Fare Difference applies per passenger, per flight. Your new fare will be at least the amount of your original fare or fare with bundle and may be more. You cannot change to a lower fare or fare with bundle. No refund will be applicable if a lower fare or fare with bundle is available. However, if the new bundle price is lower this will be offset against any fare price difference. The Fare Difference may be substantial.
- Fare Difference for permitted changes to Club Jetstar member exclusive fare bookings is the difference between your original Club Jetstar member exclusive fare or Club Jetstar member exclusive fare with bundle and an available Club Jetstar member exclusive fare or Club Jetstar member exclusive fare with bundle on the date of change which is at least the same fare or fare with bundle. These changes must be made via the Jetstar Contact Centre and do not incur an additional service fee.
- If a Club Jetstar member exclusive fare or Club Jetstar member exclusive fare with bundle is not available or for permitted changes to Club Jetstar member exclusive fare bookings made on Jetstar.com or the Jetstar App, the Fare Difference will be is the difference between the Club Jetstar member exclusive fare or fare with bundle originally booked and an available non-member fare or non-member fare with bundle on the date of change which is at least the same fare or fare with bundle. If the same fare or fare with bundle is not available, the Fare Difference will be the difference between the original Club Jetstar member exclusive fare or Club Jetstar member exclusive fare with bundle and the next available higher fare or fare with bundle.
- Fare Difference for changes to other bookings is the difference (if any) between your original fare or fare with bundle and an available fare or fare with bundle on the date of change which is at least the same fare or fare with bundle. If the same fare or fare with bundle is not available, the Fare Difference will be the difference between the original fare or fare with bundle and the next available higher fare or fare with bundle.
Permitted fare/bundle changes
- Subject to payment of Fare Difference, Business Class fares with Max bundle can be changed to an available Business Class fare with Business Class bundle.
- Club Jetstar member exclusive fare Business Class fares with Max bundle bookings can be changed to an available member or non-member Business Class fare with Business Class bundle.
- If your fare or fare with bundle is part of a Return for Free, Fly a Friend for Free, or other promotional free flight, and you are eligible for, and choose to cancel the paid flight on your booking for an original form of payment refund, then you will no longer be eligible for the free flight, and the free flight will also be cancelled. The value of any bundle or in-flight extras, such as baggage, added to the free flight on your booking will be included in the original form of payment refund.
- A Business Class fares with Max Bundle cannot be changed to a Business Class fare or Starter fare.
Re-booking
- You must re-book onto an available Jetstar flight. Jetstar does not hold open-dated bookings.
Currency
- All amounts will be charged in the currency you made your original booking.
Earning Qantas Points and Status Credits, JAL Mileage, Emirates Skywards Miles and Qantas Business Rewards
- Qantas Points and Status Credits
- Business Class with Max bundle passengers are eligible to earn Qantas Points and Status Credits.
- Qantas Points and Status Credits are earned at the Qantas Flexible Economy Rate.
- JAL Mileage
- JAL Mileage earn is only available on Jetstar Japan (GK) flights - Business class fare with Max bundle is not available on Jetstar Japan (GK) flights.
- JAL Mileage earn is not available if you have a Jetstar Japan (GK) domestic flight that connects to Business class fare with Max bundle on a Jetstar Airways (JQ) international flight.
- Emirates Skywards Miles
- Passengers travelling on Jetstar Airways (JQ) (international flights only), Jetstar Asia (3K) and Jetstar Japan (GK) flights may opt to earn Skywards Miles at the Emirates Economy rate.
- Emirates Skywards earn is not available on domestic flights operating in Australia or New Zealand.
- Qantas Business Rewards
- Business Class fare with Max bundle passengers are eligible to earn Qantas Business Rewards on JQ carried flights, excluding domestic New Zealand flights.
- If you are travelling on a domestic flight within New Zealand that connects to an international Jetstar flight, then you will earn Qantas Business Rewards on the international flight only.
- Qantas Points earned in Qantas Business Rewards for eligible Jetstar flights, calculated at 20% of the Qantas Points earned by a Bronze member of Qantas Frequent Flyer in each respective booking class (including cabin bonus and minimum points guaranteed if applicable and excluding any bonus Qantas points which may be offered from time to time).
- To be eligible to earn Qantas Business Rewards you must provide a valid ABN that is registered for GST and be a member of the Qantas Business Rewards program.

Qantas Frequent Flyer Classic Upgrade Rewards

Qantas Frequent Flyer Points Plus Pay - Flights on Jetstar - Additional Payments
- All changes or additions to your booking must be paid with money and cannot be redeemed with Qantas Points.
- Changes or additions will be calculated by using the original monetary value and currency of the fare (as determined by Jetstar) and as per the conditions listed in the Change Fee and Fare Difference section of these fare rules.
