When to get to the airport for international flights

  1. Checking in

Please make sure you arrive at the airport with plenty of time to check in, get your boarding pass before check-in closes, and clear security. See the tables below for timelines.

All timings listed below refer to scheduled departure times unless you are notified otherwise during a delay.

Before you get to the airport, we recommend you check your flight’s identification requirements and limits for carry-on baggage liquids, aerosols, gels and powders. If you’re not at the boarding gate before it closes, you won’t be able to board your flight and you may lose your fare in full.

Jetstar Airways (JQ) international flights

Airport check-in and bag drop opens 3 hours before departure and closes 1 hour before the flight
Go through security and immigration 2 hours before departure
Be ready at your boarding gate 50 minutes before departure. The boarding gate closes 20 minutes before your flight

Jetstar Japan (GK)1 international flights

Airport check-in and bag drop opens 3 hours before departure and closes 45 min before the flight
Go through security and immigration 2 hours before departure
Be ready at your boarding gate 40 minutes before departure. The boarding gate closes 15 minutes before your flight

1Please note: For Jetstar Japan (GK) flights departing from Shanghai Airport, check-in and bag drop close 50 min before scheduled departure time.

Jetstar Asia (3K) flights

Airport check-in and bag drop opens 2 hours before departure and closes 45 minutes before the flight
Go through security and immigration 1 hour before departure
Be ready at your boarding gate 30 minutes before departure. The boarding gate closes 10 minutes before your flight
