1. Jetstar Apps Terms of Use
1.1 These terms and conditions of use ('Terms') govern your use of the Jetstar App and Jetstar Trips App (‘our apps’). Your use of our apps will mean you accept these Terms.
1.2 By accessing our apps you accept these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access our apps and should delete or uninstall them from your mobile device.
1.3 These Terms may be updated by us from time to time. When we make changes, we will publish the updated Terms on our apps. By continuing to use our apps, you confirm that you agree to the updated Terms.
1.4 Our apps are not a guaranteed service. Not all functionality that is available on our apps is available in relation to flights from all airports. Jetstar does not warrant or represent that all travel service updates listed in our apps will be notified to customers.
1.5 The functionality of our apps may be affected by a range of factors including the device used, technical problems and telecommunications network coverage and availability. Users whose smartphone memory is full may not receive messages from our apps. We recommend that passengers check their flight details and, unless Jetstar advises otherwise, arrive at the airport at the advised time prior to scheduled departure.
1.6 Our apps will only function for customers with valid confirmed bookings on Jetstar-operated flights.
1.7 Our apps may not operate for flights booked through another airline, even if the flight is operated by Jetstar (for example, codeshare services) or where Jetstar has transferred you to the other airline.
2. Notifications
2.1 By retrieving a booking through our apps, you acknowledge and agree that you may receive operational push notifications from Jetstar in relation to that booking at any time. You have the option to turn these messages off in your phone’s notification permissions settings.
2.2 The notifications that may be sent will vary according to the device you are using.
(a) iOS App - You may receive the following notifications:
- Flight delays
- Flight cancellations
- Check-in alert – which informs you when check-in opens
- Gate alert – which informs you of the gate number for your flight.
(b) Android App - You may receive the following notifications:
- Flight delays
- Flight cancellations
- Check-in alert – which informs you when check-in opens
- Gate alert – which informs you of the gate number for your flight.
2.3 To be able to receive notifications from our apps you must ensure that your smartphone is switched on, connected to the internet, and notification permissions are enabled.
3. My Account
3.1 When you download our apps, you will be asked to log in using your Jetstar My Account details. If you don’t have an account, you can create one by visiting the My Account page on the Jetstar website or continuing as a guest user.
3.2 You must be logged into our apps to access all features because our apps accesses flight booking information from your My Account. You can log out at any time; however, you may not receive flight notifications or be able to access your flight information (in our apps) until you log in again.

4. Intellectual Property Rights
4.1 Our apps are protected by copyright.
4.2 You may use our apps for your personal and non-commercial purposes.
4.3 Except to the extent permitted by relevant copyright legislation, you must not use, copy, modify, transmit, store, publish or distribute the material, or create any other material using material from our apps, without the prior written consent of Jetstar.
4.4 Trade marks (whether registered or unregistered) and logos must not be used or modified in any way without the prior written consent of Jetstar.
4.5 The material, products, technology and processes contained in our apps may also be the subject of other intellectual property rights owned by Jetstar or by third parties.
4.6 No licence is granted in respect of those intellectual property rights other than as set out in these Terms of Use.
5. External Sites
5.1 Our apps may contain links to, or frame, websites of third parties ('external sites'). Your access to and use of external sites is subject to that external site’s terms and conditions of use.
5.2 Links to external sites are provided for your convenience only and Jetstar is not responsible for any information, materials, products or services posted or offered at any of these external sites. Links to, or framing of, external sites should not be construed as any endorsement, approval, recommendation or preference by Jetstar of the owners or operators of the external sites, or for any information, products or services referred to on the external sites unless expressly indicated on this web site. Jetstar makes no warranties and accepts no liability in relation to material contained on any external sites.
6. Security
6.1 When you book flights or access information about your membership of our programs, a secure server is used. Transport Layer Encryption (TLS) encrypts the information you send through this website.
6.2 No data transmission over the Internet or website can be guaranteed to be secure from intrusion. However, we maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information in accordance with data protection legislative requirements and industry standards.
7. Location Information
7.1 If you have first provided permission through your device, Jetstar may collect, and store pinpointed physical location information from technologies like GPS, Wi-Fi or mobile tower locations. You can withdraw your consent to the use of location data at any time through the settings of your mobile device.
7.2 Estimated trip time and route options are provided by Google Maps™. Google Maps is a registered trademark of Google Inc.
7.3 The products, services and offers promoted within our apps are directed and available to and for the benefit of Australian resident Jetstar members and guest users only. For this reason, before you act on the information provided, you should consider whether the content is appropriate to you based on where you currently reside.
8. Privacy and Data Storage
8.1 Our apps will collect and store your flight bookings, preferences for flight deals and other personal information (including location information as described above) in order to assist us to improve our apps and to provide you with a better and more customised experience whenever you use our apps again.
8.2 Our apps request your phone to transmit that data back to our web server. You can reset our apps to remove any stored data. Note that if you reset our apps, all information stored on your device about the previous browsing might be lost.
8.3 We use the information we collect to improve our services; to provide you with more relevant content and services; and for customer and market research purposes. All personal information is dealt with in accordance with our privacy policy with may be found at Jetstar.com.
9. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
9.1 Certain statutory warranties under consumer protection laws, such as the Australian Consumer Law as set out in Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) and the New Zealand Consumer Law as set out in the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (NZ) and the New Zealand Fair Trading Act 1986 (NZ), may be implied for the benefit of consumers. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict the application of such warranties but Jetstar does not give any guarantee or warranties or make any express or implied representations to you,with respect to the use of our apps.
9.2 Subject to any consumer protection laws that may apply to your use of our apps and/or the Terms (refer to Clause 10 below):
(a) Jetstar is not liable for disruptions to the service of our apps;
(b) Jetstar is not liable to you or anyone else if interference with or damage to your phone or computer systems occurs in connection with the use of our apps, a Jetstar website or an external site. You must take your own precautions to ensure that whatever you select for use is free of viruses or anything else that may interfere with or damage the operation of your computer systems; and
(c) To the extent permitted by law in any applicable jurisdiction and subject to Clause 10 below, Jetstar is not liable for any loss or claim of any kind (including, without limitation, any consequential, indirect, special or economic loss, loss of profit, loss of opportunity and loss of contract), arising from or in connection with the use of our apps, save to the extent that such loss or claim arises directly from Jetstar’s breach of these Terms, the applicable law, negligence or wilful misconduct.
10. Consumer protection laws
10.1 Under consumer protection laws, including the Australian Consumer Law and New Zealand Consumer Law, certain statutory guarantees and warranties may apply to the supply of goods or services provided to you as a consumer. The nature and application of these guarantees or warranties will depend on the circumstances.
10.2 Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts any applicable consumer protection laws, including the Australian Consumer Law and New Zealand Consumer Law, and these Terms will be read down to the extent necessary to comply with any applicable laws including consumer protection laws.
10.3 Where the service we provide is not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use or consumption, subject to the applicable consumer protection law, our liability to you is limited to supplying of the service again or the payment of the cost of having the service supplied again.
11. Severance
11.1 If any provision of these Terms is found by any court or other authority of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, that provision shall, to the extent required, be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make its valid, legal and enforceable. If such modification is not possible, the relevant provision shall be deemed severed from these Terms. Any modification or severance of any provision under this clause 11 shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the balance of these Terms.
